Shreveport stabbing investigation continues

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) –Police in Shreveport arrested a woman early Wednesday morning after learning that she allegedly stabbed a man.

39-year-old Francine Stewart of Shreveport was arrested after police say she stabbed 61-year-old Eddie Casson. The alleged stabbing resulted, according to police as a result of a heated argument turned violent.

The incident took place around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at a home in the 4100 block of Miles St.

The victim, Casson was taken to LSU Health Sciences Center for treatment of a stab wound to the upper torso. Police describe Casson's injury as serious.

Stewart was taken to the Shreveport City Jail and now faces one charge of aggravated battery. Detectives continued to work Wednesday to learn more about what led up to the alleged stabbing.
