SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) –Shreveport Police arrest six people for allegedly participating in door to door solicitations.
The alleged solicitors were arrested Tuesday afternoon after police say they received numerous complaints from residents in the 200 block of Hanging Moss Trail in the Ellerbe Estates subdivision and in the 10000 block of Keysburg Court in Norris Ferry Landing.
According to police, witnesses told them that the solicitors were telling homeowners that they were selling magazine subscriptions to receive points to help get them into college.
When police confronted the suspects, they learned that they did not have any permits conduct business, which resulted in their arrest.
The following six people now face a charge of solicitation without a permit:
20-year old Eric Baughn of Lancaster, Texas
34-year-old Kenneth Paige of Memphis, Tennessee
20-year-old Carlton Lemond of Collierville, Tennessee
38-year-old Shalanda Cole of Lake Charles, Louisiana
26-year-old Tiffany Douglass of Collierville, Tennessee
35-year-old Alphonse Boure of St. Louis, Missouri.
