Bossier City Police foot patrols take off again

Bossier City, La. (KSLA)- Bossier City Police Officers are taking back their streets this weekend and every weekend throughout the spring and summer simply the good old-fashioned way. Bossier City Police Officers will be patrolling the streets of Bossier City in their cars and as well as on foot in an attempt to deter crime and communicate more with the locals. In recent years, Bossier City residents said that this attempt has been successful and that they have noticed a difference.

"There's no better feeling that if I look out my window and I see officers walking up and down the sidewalk." said former retired police Chief Mike Halphen.

The initiative has become part of a summer strategy to curb crime. Officers become more involved in what goes on in the neighborhoods. This strategy would help them get first hand information and form better relationships with the citizens they are sworn to protect.
