Suspect in a string of Arkansas crimes arrested

A former Texas D.P.S Trooper has been finally been captured after he led police on a long chase in an attempt to evade arrest.

Travis McRae, 45, a registered sex offendor, was arrested by Arkansas State Police around 5 PM in Clark County, Arkansas. Police officers pulled McRae out of a pond he was hiding in near Interstate 30 and State Highway 51 northeast of Prescott, AR. The suspect had eluded officers in a chase and wrecked the reportedly stolen SUV was in before he bailed out on foot. Authorities in a search party walked around the pond several times and eventually captured him

McRae allegedly committed several crimes including an assault on a police officer, a string of burglaries, and an attempted rape of a teenager.
