15-year-old S'port boy charged in BB gun shooting

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) –A 15-year-old boy was arrested by Shreveport Police detectives Wednesday for alleged negligent injury of a 10-year-old with a BB gun.

The juvenile's name is being withheld because of Louisiana law.

The incident in question occurred back on May 3rd at a home in the 1300 block of Audrey Ln., in Shreveport's Martin Luther King Jr., neighborhood.

Shreveport Police responded to a shooting call and found a 10-year-old suffering from a BB gunshot wound to the neck. The 10-year-old was taken to LSU Hospital with what police describe as a serious injury.

Upon investigation the incident, police learned that the victim and the 15-year-old had been playing with the BB gun when the apparent accidental shooting occurred.

The 15-year-old now faces a charge of negligent injuring. Police report that the juvenile was issued a juvenile summons and released into the custody of a parent.
