SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – "I want a new board in place, and new officers," said Shreveport attorney, John Settle. He's also not mincing words in his lawsuit he plans to file.
The suit requests an injunction against this board of directors for the Queensborough Neighborhood Association.
"I want an order to go in effect tomorrow that says ya'll can't do anything," said Settle.
Last week former executive director of the Queensboroough Neighborhood Association, Lola May pleaded guilty to misuse of public funds.
On Monday the board replaced May with an interim director.
That's when one of the board's directors, Sam Jenkins put some distance between the board and may.
"We are not in the business of allowing anyone to come in and misuse funds at this association: if we get any indication something like that is going on we're going to take some action," said Jenkins.
"Come on Sam! Where have you been," asks Settle.
He says the board continuing to operate is the fox guarding the hen house.
"I think the entire board committed malfeasance and I believe the entire board may be liable civilly if someone can get in there and do a proper audit," said Settle.
And while the board appears poised to move forward with a new director, Settle wants a judge to order them to not move at all.
