International airliner makes stop at BAFB for dying woman on-board

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) – KSLA News 12 has confirmed that a commercial airliner made an emergency landing at Barksdale Air Force Base Sunday afternoon for a dying woman on her way to see her son on this Mother's Day.

The jumbo jet had almost completed its international flight from Frankfurt, Germany to Houston, Texas, when a female passenger, went into cardiac arrest.

According to Barksdale's public affairs office, the Boeing 747 Lufthansa Airline jet was diverted to Barksdale from Shreveport Regional Airport because of its size.

KSLA News 12 is also told that medics rushed the woman to Willis Knighton-Bossier, where she was pronounced dead about 4:30pm Sunday afternoon.
