SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – While fishing in the Red River Saturday morning near the Stoner Boat Launch a man came across a body that had washed ashore. He and some nearby workers called 911.

The boat launch was temporarily shut down and joggers were turned away from the area while Shreveport Police and Caddo Parish Sheriff's Deputies worked to recover the body.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office is handling the case and says the body appears to be that of a white male, possible in his thirties.

The sheriff's office also says the body appears to have been in the water for a long time.

The body was turned over to the Caddo Parish Coroners Office.

The man's identity has not been determined yet.
