CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) –A Caddo Parish School teacher has been recognized nationally to participate in a Washington, D.C. teacher development program.
Shreveport's Caddo Middle Magnet teacher, Jenny Gallant was chosen Tuesday to participate in the Bill of Rights Institute, a program for early career teachers.
Gallant is now part of a group of 20 teachers across the nation to be chosen for the this program which, according to Caddo Parish School officials, will provide educators with lectures, discussion and tours of historic sites.
The goal, according to school officials, is to help educators gain a deeper understanding of the founding of America.
Participants will comprise the Institute's first class of Founders Fellows.
Gallant has been teacher of American history and World history at Caddo Middle Magnet, according to officials for the past three years.
Gallant will be locally recognized during the May 18th meeting of the Caddo Parish School Board.
