Shooting in Haughton, one wounded, suspect search continues

HAUGHTON, LA (KSLA) - Bossier Parish Sheriff investigators continue to investigate a shooting early Wednesday morning. Already one suspect connected to the shooting is in custody, but the search continues for others.

That shooting happened around 2 a.m. Wednesday at a home in the 1200 block of Winfield Rd. in Haughton.

According to deputies, so far they know that the shooting involves at least six people.

Reportedly a group drove out to Haughton early Wednesday morning, allegedly from Shreveport.

Bossier deputies say that there was a white Honda with three people inside, when the group arrived on Winfield Rd., reportedly they encountered a black Sebring with three males inside.

At one point, according to deputies, a discussion came about in which smoking marijuana came up. Reportedly two of the six declined the alleged invitation and walked away. Now that's when deputies say the situation took a turn for the worse.

Next, deputies say both the remaining people in the Honda and Sebring followed the two who were walking and one male inside one of the vehicles shot one of the men who was walking in the abdomen.

That shooting victim, reportedly was taken to LSU Hospital. Soon after the shooting, deputies say all the suspects dispersed, reportedly heading back towards Shreveport.

At this time deputies do not have a vehicle license plate description for either of the two vehicles. The only description deputies have as of right now is that one of the alleged suspects in named Carol.

Reportedly no gun has been recovered.
