SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – Police on both sides of the Red River are working accidents that are causing traffic tie ups on I-20 in both directions.

Both accidents happened about noon as heavy rain moved through Shreveport and Bossier City.

Police in Bossier say a woman driving westbound in a minivan lost control in the heavy rain between the Airline Drive and Old Minden Road exits and began to skid. She hit the guardrail and rolled down a grassy embankment several times.

Police say she was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

At the same time, an 18-wheeler jack-knifed in the eastbound lanes of I-20 near Fairfield Avenue. So far there's no word on injuries in that accident.
