SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) –  Braden Contario, a South Caddo Parish resident is getting an escort back to his home off cypress Garden to gather some essentials.

"They evacuated us pretty quick," said Contario.

Despite the strong advice from emergency officials that he takes Exco up on their offer to put him up in a hotel, Contario says he never wanted to leave in the first place.

"Just because that's home It ain't my fault they wanted to put gas rigs up near my house," said Contario.

"I'm trying not to be negative about this," said resident, Kimberly Holt.

Today (Tuesday) emergency officials met with irate and nervous residents who were told that by tomorrow if tests taken from various water sources come back favorable, officials will go to each door to test each home.

"We're going to open the spicket on the outside of the house, let it run for five minutes," said Sandy Davis with Homeland Security.

Meanwhile, emergency officials want to convince residents to stay out of their homes for now, until the all clear is given.
