North Caddo man arrested for false bomb threat

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A Blanchard man kept Caddo deputies at a standstill for nearly four hours Monday morning, after allegedly claiming he had a bomb.

Deputies say the 45-year-old man called in around 3 a.m. allegedly threatening to kill himself and his wife.

Caddo Sheriff Hostage Negotiation and Special Response Teams arrived at the Blanchard home in the 4800 block of Larry Lane.

Upon a reportedly three hour long negotiation, deputies learned that the man was home alone and had taken a large amount of medication.

Around 7 a.m. Monday morning, deputies say the man was subdued and then taken to LSU Hospital for evaluation.

Reportedly, no weapons or explosives were found in the residence.
