News release from the Bossier City Police Department

A Shreveport woman hired by a Bossier City business to broker the purchase of thousands of dollars in promotional products from a Missouri-based company has been arrested after she refused to pay the company for the goods.

Detectives with the White Collar Crimes Unit arrested Adrienne Lynnette Davis, 43, last week on charge a charge of felony theft. In September of 2009, the Bossier City business hired Davis' company, Minority Suppliers and Contractors, to broker the purchase of promotional key chains from the Missouri company.  Davis received the goods from the Missouri company, delivered them to the Bossier City business and accepted payment, however she never paid the Missouri company the nearly $30,000 cost for the goods. The company spent several months attempting to receive payment from Davis before it contacted the Bossier City Police Department this past February.

Detectives arrested Davis on a criminal warrant charging her felony theft and booked her into the Bossier City Jail. Bond was set at $75,000.

Detectives also arrested Davis on a warrant charging her with issuing worthless checks in connection with an unrelated incident.  In that case, Davis cashed a check last December at a Bossier City business for $1100 that she had written on a closed account. Bond on that charge is set at $10,000.
