BOSSIER CITY (KSLA) - In front of over 3,000 hockey fans, the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs took care of the Colorado Eagles 4-2 to advance onto the second round of the CHL Playoffs.
The Mudbugs wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as Shawn Limpright found the back of the net 4:18 into the first period for his fourth goal of the playoffs. Both Justin Aikins and Travis Clayton finished out the scoring to put coach Scott Muscutt's team up 3-0 after the first period.
Colorado's Ed McGrane put the Eagles on the board 50 seconds into the second period. Tyrel Lucas extended the Mudbugs advantage back to three goals midway through the period.
The team now await the winner between Rapid City and Missouri. The Rush lead the series 3-0 going into Friday nights game four. Should it be a Rapid City/Bossier-Shreveport match-up, the series will start in North Dakota as the Rush are a higher seed coming into the playoffs.
