SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – KSLA News 12 has just received word that eastbound Interstate 20 at Monkhouse Dr. is now back open to traffic, following a fatal four vehicle accident early Monday morning.
That accident happened a little after 7 a.m. and Shreveport police and fire officials report that four vehicles were involved.
The accident happened when one of the vehicles driving westbound on Interstate 20 crossed through the median into the eastbound lane.
Shreveport Police say that the driver of the vehicle that crossed the median was 26-year-old Michael Christopher of Shreveport. Christopher died at the scene.
One of the other victims involved, according to Shreveport Asst. Fire Chief Scott Wolverton, is a member of the Shreveport Fire Dept, he's been identified as Asst. Fire Chief, Nathan Tabor.
Tabor and two others were taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
