Deadly crash of country singer’s bus kills two

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – Country music star and Louisiana native Trace Adkins is taking a break from his tour, after a fatal crash involving his band's bus.

KSLA News 12 was there as the country music star took the stage in Bossier City Saturday night.

There was a packed house at Century-Tel Center not only to hear Adkins perform with Martina McBride,  but also to honor the five members of his band who were injured and the two others killed in Saturday morning's head on crash north of Shreveport.

The collision killed two people inside a pick-up truck after it hit Adkins' bus.

Officials said that both victims died instantly.

The driver was identified as 21-year old Justin Maxey of Fouke, Arkansas and his 36 year-old passenger Jeffery Ferguson, Jr. of Texarkana, Arkansas.
