SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) –LSU Hospital officials report that the condition of an 18-year-old Shreveport teen shot multiple times is improving.
Tammie Spates' condition has been upgraded by hospital officials from fair to good. The good news came Thursday afternoon via phone call.
Spates was allegedly shot, last Friday by 28-year-old Tony Holden. Holden is now behind bars facing an attempted 2nd degree murder charge and a carnal knowledge of a juvenile charge.
According to police, the shooting happened after Spates and Holden had reportedly had an argument. The two were allegedly romantically involved for quite some time.
The search continues for the weapon used by Holden to shoot Spates. School is back in progress at Booker T. Washington High School.
Crisis counselors have been made available for students likely still traumatized and concerned in the wake of the isolated shooting.
