SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – KSLA News 12 has just received word from LSU Hospital officials that 18-year-old Tammie Spate's condition has been upgraded from serious to fair.
Spates was shot Friday morning outside Booker T. Washington High School, located in Shreveport's Queensborough neighborhood.
The alleged gunman is in police custody, he's been identified as 28-year-old Tony Holden.
According to Shreveport Police, Holden and Spates were romantically involved. Police tell KSLA News 12 that on Friday morning as Holden was preparing to drop Spates off at school, the two got into some type of argument.
That argument escalated when Holden got out the car and aimed a gun at Spates, witnesses nearby said they heard Spates tell Holden not to shoot her. Police said he fired, hitting Spates three times in the upper torso.
