Weekend stabbings in Shreveport leaves two dead

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA)-Shreveport Police detectives are investigating two unrelated stabbings that left two men dead over the weekend. 

At approximately 4:15 p.m. on December 5, 2009, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a stabbing in the 4000 block of Golf Links Blvd. Upon arrival, officers discovered 35 year old Jarvis Taylor suffering from a stab wound to the chest. Taylor was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department where he was later pronounced deceased. Investigators were dispatched to the scene and now believe that Jarvis Taylor was involved in a domestic dispute with an adult female which ultimately escalated into a physical fight, during which the female armed herself with a knife and stabbed Taylor. Detectives questioned the female and later released her.

At approximately 1:17 a.m. this morning, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of Hattie St. relative to a stabbing. Upon arrival there, officers found 38 year old Johnny Washington suffering from a stab wound to the chest. Washington was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department where he was later pronounced deceased. Detectives were dispatched to the scene and believe that Washington entered the residence of an adult female who has been described as his ex-girlfriend. A physical altercation ensued during which the female armed herself with a knife and stabbed Washington. Detectives questioned the female and later released her.
