PINEVILLE, LA (KSLA) – Earlier today, Governor Bobby Jindal gave a hero's welcome to members of the Louisiana National Guard's 225th Engineer Brigade.
It all happened at Camp Beauregard in Pineville, Louisiana.
This group of men and women has been in Iraq since December of 2008 in support of 'Operation Iraqi Freedom.'
Deployed in Iraq for about 9 months, their mission included clearing improvised explosive devices along with general construction and services for infrastructure.
In other words, for them it was boots on the ground helping Iraqi citizens piece they're country back together.
For many of them, this was their second deployment to the war zone. "We are so proud of men and women in Iraq children parents and spouses excited to get them back these men and women run toward danger so we can be safe," Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal.
This brigade of soldiers also worked directly with Baghdad's citizens by assisting in over 400 local projects.
This is one of the largest engineer formations in the United States Army National Guard.
