BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) – A Shreveport man reportedly involved in a recent motel robbery and shooting, has surrendered.

Bossier City Police were looking for 18-year-old Ira Cannon in connection to Sunday night's robbery and shooting at the Economy Inn, located in the 4400 block of East Texas St., in Bossier City.

Cannon was reportedly wanted on a charge of attempted first degree murder for robbing and shooting 34-year-old Carlos Jenkins shortly after the two arrived together at the motel Sunday evening.

Police say Jenkins was shot twice in the face. His wounds were said to be non-life threatening.

Cannon reportedly robbed Jenkins of his wallet and car keys then fled the scene in Jenkins car. Police were able to find Jenkins' vehicle an hour later burned out, in the 3200 block of Old Blanchard Rd.

Cannon turned himself in Thursday afternoon, and was booked into the Bossier City Jail on a charge of attempted first-degree murder.
