Armed robber hits Dogwood Trail store

BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) - Bossier authorities continue to search for the suspect who pulled an armed robbery at a convenience store Friday night.

The robbery happened just before 10 pm at the Dogwood Country Store on Dogwood Trail. According to initial reports from authorities, the suspect entered the store, demanded money, then got in a car and fled.

Authorities narrowly missed catching the suspect. He fled the scene driving west on Dogwood Trail, an area where numerous law enforcement officers were staged due to the rising waters of the Red Chute Bayou.

As the suspect turned onto Stockwell Road, he nearly hit an oncoming car.

One Bossier Parish Deputy suffered minor injuries when he crashed his patrol car as he was responding to the robbery call. Witnesses say as the deputy was driving off, he ran off the road and into a culvert. He had to be extricated from the car by rescue crews.

Authorities continue to investigate the robbery and look for the suspect.
