Caddo judge sentences multiple offender to life

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A Shreveport man was sentenced to life in prison Friday as a multiple offender.

Caddo District Judge Craig Marcotte sentenced 54-year-old John Edward Marshall to life in prison at hard labor without the possibility of probation, parole or a suspended sentence.

Police arrested Marshall in January at an apartment in the 6700 block of Clift Ave. during a bust-buy drug sting.

Members of the Shreveport-Caddo Street Level Interdiction Unit arrested Marshall in January during a drug sting operation. Over the summer he pled guilty to distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, which in this case was crack cocaine.

55-year-old Katherine Ann Williams, Marshall's co-defendant in the case, is currently serving a 12-year sentence after pleading guilty to the same charges in July.

Caddo Assistant District Attorney Jason Brown prosecuted the case.
