Crime rate in Louisiana is down


The Federal Bureau of Investigation has just released a new study that shows that the violent crime rate in Louisiana has dropped.

According to the FBI, New Orleans had 179 homicides in 2008 and Baton Rouge had 67.

About 22 people were murdered for every one-hundred thousand people living in the greater New Orleans area and 13 people per one in the greater Baton Rouge area.

 In 2008, according to the report, there were 527 total homicides in the state of Louisiana.
