YANTIS, TX (KLTV) - An East Texas woman, authorities believe responsible for shooting her ex-husband, is dead tonight.

Kimberly McLarry, was shot and killed by D.P.S. troopers this morning after drawing a revolver on officers.  Authorities say it started around ten a.m., at a repair shop and home in Hopkins county, just off highway 1-54 south of Sulphur Springs.

This is how the morning started for an East Texas man.

Aboard a helicopter to ETMC in Tyler after authorities say he was shot in the face by his ex wife, Kimberly McLarry just south of Sulphur Springs in Hopkins county.

"We initially as well as wood county units initially received information on a domestic dispute through a 911 call through the Hopkins county sheriff's department," says DPS spokeswoman Jean Dark.

Following a witness tip on a fleeing vehicle and possible suspect, DPS officers soon arrived a few miles east of Yantis in Wood county on county road 1858, near McClurry's home.

Trooper Dark explained what happened next, "As the troopers moved in to make contact that female subject was at the gate with a weapon pointing at our officers. The troopers shot and the suspect is deceased," she said.

Once the scene was secured, the investigation began.

Members of the DPS Accident Reconstruction Team took to the air to recreate the shooting step by step.  Wood county and DPS remained on the scene with Texas Rangers for hours gathering evidence.

McLarry's body was taken from the scene, fortunately, no members of law enforcement were injured in the encounter.  DPS has not released the identity of the man, and his condition is unknown at this time.
