From The Frontlines: Pat's learning the ropes in Iraq

Hello from Baghdad!

Thank you all for your emails and letters of concern and well wishes! We did get the boxes and boxes of girl scout cookies from Troop Number 92. The soldiers loved them and love the girls who sent the cookies. How sweet indeed! Keep the care packages coming, they say.

My schedule is crazy, working as a news director/reporter/media escort/and so on, but as soon as I settle in, I should be able to get a routine going.

As a Public Affairs Officer, I take part in numerous briefings, always gathering information to use to help get our stories out.

Also, the 225th is part of the MND-B (Multi National Division Baghdad). There are a number of other units that fall under this command and they are all working effectively to get the mission done.

The engineers are working very hard to turn everything over to the Iraqis.  This is a very historic time for more than one reason.  I will try to outline that in my stories.

I will try to keep my head down.  There are still some hotspots around our area.
