LSU beats Butler in NCAA First Round

Marcus Thornton scored 30 points as the LSU Tigers beat Butler 75-71 in the first round of the NCAA tournament.  Up next for LSU will be a date with North Carolina on Saturday afternoon in Greensboro, NC.  The Tarheels routed Radford even without star guard Ty Lawson, but if he misses the game against LSU it could be a big advantage for the Tigers.  The two teams will meet at 4:45 pm Central time with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line.
