New construction planned at La. Tech

Associated Press - July 12, 2010 7:24 AM ET

RUSTON, La. (AP) - Louisiana Tech University will break ground by December on a new College of Business after receiving $12.4 million in capital outlay funding from the state during the recently concluded legislative session.

Tech spokesman Dave Guerin tells The News-Star that it's too early to put a total price tag on the project, but it will be funded with a combination of the capital outlay funds and private donations from College of Business alumni.

The new 42,000 square foot building will be located on the eastern edge of the campus, close to the site of Tech's new Enterprise Campus, a collaborative public-private research park.

The new building will replace the current College of Business built in the 1960s and renovated in the early 1980s.
