Retired officer laments loss of life on Shreveport's streets
50 crosses in the front yard. The home belongs to a retired police officer calling attention to fatal violence on Shreveport's streets. "These are mothers' children. A lot of these are young men who will never grow up. A lot of people say 'Oh, they were drug dealers.' No, they weren't drug dealers. They were just young men; most of them were young men. And they'll never have the chance or opportunity to produce or do something great."
