Judge orders Shreveport to pay $10,000+ in attorney's fees
Shreveport must pay more than $10,000 in attorney's fees for police Sgt. Michael Carter, a district court says. The city had tried blocking Carter's election to the Shreveport Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board. Carter, who now chair's the panel, hired an attorney to defend his right to serve on the board. A district court judge ruled that Louisiana law and the city's charter entitle Carter to recover his legal expenses.
