Shreveport mayor to propose $150,000 more for OT for police patrols
Shreveport police soon will be 20 officers stronger with the latest academy graduates. Mayor Ollie Tyler says she will propose a resolution to provide an additional $150,000 for overtime pay, specifically for patrols. Police Chief Alan Crump says his officers will team up with property standards officers to help stop crime from harboring in blighted areas of the city. But for crime to truly be reduced, the police chief says, community relationships need to be bolstered.
