LA governor dives into strained University Health-BRF relationship
Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards stopped in Shreveport on March 8 to try to help mend fences between LSU Health's medical school and BRF, its management company. Meantime, State Sen. Greg Tarver wants the attorney general to look into the possibility of Medicaid fraud at University Health and alleged it owes $6.5 million to LSU. University Health officials said they again are disappointed with Tarver's inaccurate remarks and said the hospital is current on its payments.
