Kaufman County remains the only county under a Burn Ban at this time.
Hot Temperatures and little to no chance for any relief from the skies this weekend in the form of rain. Next chances for rain may come late Monday over Deep East Texas, but for most of East Texas, Tuesday will be the next chance for any rainfall. Rain chances improve a bit on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but those chances are only in the 30% range..but anything is certainly better than nothing, but I do think that scattered showers and thundershowers will be returning to the area then.
With high temperatures in the upper 90s through Monday, along with mostly sunny skies, Temperature-Humidity index values during the heat of the day will be from 101 to 108 degrees. Please be cautious as the heat can sneak up on you, especially if you are not used to being outside during this summer heat. Get into the shade as often as possible, stay hydrated and even get into an air-conditioned area when you can. Now that school will be starting for most children on Monday, playing outside during the afternoon should be monitored vigorously.
Enjoy your weekend and Stay Cool!
