    Augusta Commissioners have voted to move forward with the $93 million dollar Depot Project, if the developer meets 11 conditions. Leaders voted 8 -1-1 to approve a resolution that will allow the Downtown Development Authority to issue $14 million dollars in bonds from the city to support the project. Out of the 11 conditions, City Leaders want the entire project to be completed in one phase instead of two which was previously stated. But this vote gives the city leverage to back out ...

    Augusta - Richmond County Leaders could not pass on a method to address the street light funds that will ultimately raise the deficit from $1.2 million to nearly $2 million dollars on Tuesday. The City Administrator recommended a method that would raise the fee's for this fund. But City Leaders were deadlocked at 5 to 5 which Mayor Davis ultimately saying no.The fee's haven't been adjusted since the 1990's. Commissioners will have to wait until next year to vote for a resolution...

    25 wheelchair athletes from the Charlie Norwood VA Hospital competed in the National Veterans Wheelchair games in Orlando, Florida on the week of August 2. These athletes competed in various sports, ranging from bowling to table tennis to softball to quad rugby, and so much more. One of these athletes won gold with his team, but that is not his only accomplishment since suffering a spinal injury in 2004.

    It was all smiles in the James Brown Arena on August 10 and 11, as the Georgia Dental Association transformed the arena into a free dental clinic. The clinic, called the Georgia Mission of Mercy, or GMOM, served almost 2,000 patients from the CSRA and provided over $1.5 million worth of dental care during the two day event. So many people came out that the clinic had to stop making dentures, and they cut off the line to get into the event around 1 p.m. on Saturday.

    Agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division arrested an employee with Bamberg County Family Court in connection with missing funds. Caroline Angela Raysor, 46, was charged with embezzlement of public funds with a value of over $10,000. The case was investigated by SLED at the request of the Bamberg County Sheriff's Office.
