A perfect day for a nice relaxing flight. The only problem is, if you're not an aerobatic pilot with 20 plus years of flight experience....it doesn't seem very relaxing. The Aeroshell Aerobatic Team managed to talk myself, Fred Childers and my photographer, Andy Clark into a flight that would test our ability to hold our fears, and hold our lunch. The inside loop was an incredible feeling, our bodies felt five "g's". Then our bodies felt nauseated. To the Aeroshell Pilots, this is a cake walk, and they weren't through with us, this is a barrel roll. This one of the airplanes that will be featured in this weekend's airshow, it's called a North American T-6, it's nick name is the Pilot Maker because it's the most widely used training plane in the world. It's a World War II aircraft, but don't let it's antiquity fool you, it's agility is still respected around the world, Andy and I only got a small taste of it's ability. Feeling sick and ready to conduct an interview our pilots land. The Pilots admitted to taking it easy on my photographer and I, which was appreciated.
