Eldorado, Ark. man arrested for dumping nitric acid

SHREVEPORT, LA. (KSLA)- Louisiana State Police and the Emergency Services Unit have now closed the investigation into illegal dumping of Nitric Acid.

Troopers arrested 58 year old Mizel Gatson of El Dorado, Arkansas in Shreveport Thursday for illegally dumping Nitric Acid.

Gatson a former truck driver for Lee's Trucking of El Dorado, Arkansas was arrested following an investigation for reckless handling of a hazardous material.

Gatson allegedly dumped several gallons of Nitric Acid at the Flying J Truck Stop in Greenwood, LA on December 12, 2008. Gatson then drove away from the Truck Stop but was stopped near Mansfield and identified to be the operator of the vehicle which was carrying the Nitric Acid.

Gatson was booked into CCC with a $5,000 bond.
