SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A couple's unlucky day at a local casino came courtesy of a two-armed bandit-- a con man who made off with their cash, according to Shreveport police.
The couple told officers that on the evening of October 22nd, they were approached by a man who spoke with what sounded like an African accent and asked for help in holding his money.
Police say the man handed the couple a paper bag he said was filled with cash, and somehow convinced them to also put their money inside.
The man then made his way to the front door and got into a taxi cab, police said.
When the couple returned to their hotel room and opened the bag, it contained only shredded newspaper.
Police have released video from a casino surveillance camera in the hope that someone will recognize the suspected con man.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at (318) 673-7373.
