NEAR DEQUEEN, AR (KSLA) - Skeletal remains believed to be those of a Sevier County teen were uncovered in a wooded area near DeQueen Lake Tuesday.

Fifteen-year-old Ivonne Ramirez was last seen at her house in the 100 block of Process Heights in DeQueen on September 20th.

Initially, police believed she could be a runaway and headed for Mexico, but said they had reason to believe foul play could also have been involved.

Investigators believe the remains are Ramirez's because of items found with the remains.

"We are proceeding on the theory that this is a homicide and until we learn differently we will continue with that," said Prosecuting Attorney Ralph Keen. "Various leads were followed up, and without going into detail in an ongoing investigation, we were lead here."

At the moment, police say the teen's boyfriend is a suspect.
