Shreveport, LA (KSLA) -  A house on the 400 block of Prospect Street in Shreveport was destroyed during an afternoon fire.
The blaze began around 2:30 Monday and it took several hours for crews to get it under control.
The people who lived in the home were able to make it out okay along with the family's four dogs who had to be rescued.
Just about the only material thing saved was a flag that was hanging from the front of the home.  Fire investigators are on the scene trying to determine the cause. A woman who was inside of the home reported hearing popping noise coming from the back.
At one time there were some 50 fire fighters helping to contain the fire.
Thankfully no one was hurt.
