Minden Doctor Vying For N. LA Congressional Seat

Posted: Updated:
A doctor from Minden wants to become north Louisiana's next U.S. Representative, a position being created by retiring Congressman Jim McCrery.
Doctor John Fleming is now a candidate for Louisiana's Fourth Congressional District.
Before opening his medical practice in Minden, Fleming served as a medical officer in the navy. He also was awarded Louisiana's Physician of the Year in 2007.
He says he wants to call the republican party back to the conservative values of Ronald Reagan.
Fleming served as Webster Parish Coroner from 1996 to 2000 and most recently served as a member of the Social Services Advisory Council on Governor Bobby Jindal's transition team.
