"He ain't got all of our money, and we just want our money from him. For Amelia Roberson and dozens like her, seeing rapper Lil Wayne in concert on August 30th was an event worth paying to see, but Lil Wayne never made it on stage, and now those who came out, are looking for their money. Dozens of people lined up outside Shreveport's Municipal Auditorium for hours Wednesday trying to get the other half of the money they say one of the promoters of the event, Jonathan Morgan, owes them. Roberson says she just wants her money back. "He don't wanna pay our money back, and he's not leaving until he gives us our money back.
The building that Elvis walked out of, Lil Wayne never walked into, and that's because of money. Management at Municipal Auditorium says Lil Wayne was promised 40 thousand dollars for the performance, but there was very little ticket sales for the event.
And that's led to the scramble to refund the customers who paid for the event.
Luciana Singleton says she's been getting the run around from Morgan about her refund ever since the show was cancelled. "One day he tells us 3 o' clock today, and then he said Friday from 12-2. We haven't gotten anything yet."
Finally those who waited did finally get some of their money back, but not all of it. " I paid a hundred something dollars for my ticket, because he's giving what he has in his pockets."
And they promise to fight, until all of their money is returned. "We're going to sit right here until we get our money."
