Another person has joined a lawsuit against Timex claiming that their watch is toxic. It's a warning you'll want to listen to before you put on your watch.
Paul Copeland, "At times it's been over the entire back of my hand, especially in this area here and there's some scarring."
Copeland says he's been battling with a persistent, irritation on his wrist for two years.
"It stings and actually it's sore down in my wrist, but a stinging sensation like you burned yourself," he says.
Visits with three different doctors left him clueless about the cause.
Until he saw a KSLA News 12 Alert. Last Friday we told you about a lawsuit filed by Bossier City lawyer Leslie Kelly for Paul Arbogast. Arbogast says his Timex watch caused an allergic reaction that wouldn't go away. Kelly had the watch band and three others tested and found the cancer-causing metal hexavalent chromium.
Leslie Kelly says, "Clearly there's an alarming concentration of this carcinogen in the watch straps and we feel that we do have the medical causation that these two clients their injuries are caused by the concentration of hexavalent chromium in the watch strap."
Kelly says another claimant validates what he thought all along, a number of people could be telling time with a toxic watch.
"Not only Timex watches, perhaps other manufactures and across various models," he says.
Once again, Timex declined to comment because the case is under litigation. Click here for a copy of the lawsuit and the report from the company that tested the watch bands.
