Nick Guillory was born in Texas, but calls Louisiana home. He grew up in the big cities of Houston and Arlington, Texas and later the small town of Eunice, Louisiana. He recently worked as the multimedia reporter and web editor at KOMU 8-TV in Columbia, MO.
Guillory received a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He contributed to the local NPR affiliate, KBIA-FM. With the changing landscape of Journalism he has found ways to use other platforms to deliver compelling, timely and important news to a wide range of audiences.
Reporting is Guillory's passion and he embraces opportunities to travel to get the story. In 2008, he covered Hurricane Gustav in Livingston, Louisiana by following a Boone County, Missouri utility crew, which helped restore power to millions of customers. Covering the 2008 race for the White House was also one of his most notable accomplishments. He reported on one of President Barack Obama's St. Louis campaign stops. Guillory has also interviewed many other political figures including governors and senators.
Guillory has two brothers and is the middle child. He enjoys family time the most and loves cooking with the family. Nick also enjoys traveling, running, volunteering, reading and writing. He is currently a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, Investigative Reporters and Editors and RTNDA.
