OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - The surging Golden State Warriors routed the Dallas Mavericks 108-85 last night for their fifth straight win. Former Warriors fan favorite Monta Ellis scored 15 points. Dirk Nowitzki had 12 points and six rebounds in a disappointing display by Dallas. The Warriors outshot the Mavericks 51.2 percent to 36.6 percent.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Kevin Durant scored 42 points to help the Oklahoma City Thunder defeat the Houston Rockets 106-98 last night. Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook scored 24 points and got the best of nemesis Patrick Beverley. Former Thunder guard James Harden scored 28 points, Chandler Parsons scored 19 and Dwight Howard had nine points and 10 rebounds for the Rockets.
CHICAGO (AP) - Manu Ginobili scored 22 points as the league-leading San Antonio Spurs beat the Chicago Bulls 104-96 last night. San Antonio won its seventh straight and 10th in its last 11. The Spurs maintained their hold on the NBA's best record. San Antonio took a 61-33 advantage into halftime. That helped them improve to 24-6 on the road.
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Jamie Benn scored 3:42 into overtime to give the Dallas Stars a 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues yesterday. The Dallas victory came one night after teammate Rich Peverley collapsed on the bench. Defensemen Alex Pietrangelo and Roman Polak ended lengthy goal droughts for the Blues. St. Louis lost for the first time in five games with new goalie Ryan Miller.
