3 die in separate auto accidents in Arkansas
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas State Police say three people have been killed in separate auto accidents in the state.
The victims died Sunday in crashes in White, Independence and Marion counties.
Troopers say 57-year-old Mark Dobbs of Bull Shoals was killed near Pyatt when a tractor-trailer rig swerved to avoid another accident and crashed into Dobbs' vehicle about 4 p.m. Sunday.
Fifty-3-year-old Joseph Moody died when his vehicle went off an Independence County road and crashed into a rock wall and a tree just after 7 a.m. And 66-year-old Wayne Tanner of Searcy died just after 3 p.m. when was thrown from the pickup truck he was riding in after the driver veered into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Officials say Arkansas plans to consider using different drugs in lethal injections after the state lost its account with a pharmaceutical company that supplied it with drugs earlier this year.
State Department of Correction spokeswoman Shea Wilson told The Associated Press Monday that the agency no longer has a supplier for the drugs listed in its current lethal injection protocol. So, Wilson says the department plans to look at other drugs and to rewrite its protocol.
The AP first reported in April that Arkansas planned to use an anti-seizure drug called phenobarbital in executions, even though that chemical has never been used in a lethal injection in the United States.
Arkansas has no pending executions. The state last executed a prisoner in 2005.

Ark. state rep. running for auditor next year
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas state Representative Andrea Lea says she's seeking the Republican nomination for state auditor next year.
Lea said Monday that she's decided to run and will formally announce her candidacy on July 2nd with events in Russellville, northwest Arkansas and Little Rock. Lea is the second Republican to announce a bid for the office.
Lea has served in the state House since 2007 and chairs the House State Agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee. She represents District 71 in Pope County.
Auditor Charlie Daniels, a Democrat, announced last month that he would not seek re-election next year. No Democrats have announced for the office.
Ken Yang, who works for the Arkansas Family Council, is also seeking the Republican nomination for auditor.

Jury selection begins in trial of LR ex-officer
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Jury selection has begun in the manslaughter trial of a former Little Rock police officer charged with manslaughter in the death of a 15-year-old burglary suspect.
A circuit judge began questioning the pool of prospective jurors Monday afternoon, asking about any preconceived notions they may hold.
Former Officer Josh Hastings was fired and charged in the death of Bobby Moore the Third after investigators said evidence from the scene didn't match his account of events.
Hastings has said Moore tried to run him over with a car after the officer responded to a report of cars being broken into at an apartment complex.
By a 3:30 p.m. break, the process had not yet reached the point where lawyers were allowed to individually question potential jurors.
LAKE FACILITIES REOPENED
Corps announces reopening Arkansas lake facilities
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says all facilities at DeGray Lake and at Lake Greeson in southwest Arkansas have been reopened.
Some facilities had been closed following recent heavy rains.
The Corps also says several campsites and boat ramps at Lake Ouachita that had been closed are also reopened.
The Corps warns boaters to remain cautious and watch for debris that have washed into the lakes as a result of the recent rains.
