SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Three years after Bossier City Police say Robert McCoy killed three people, his triple murder trial is delayed.

On Monday, the Louisiana 2nd District Court of Appeals ordered the Bossier Parish Court to give another extension to the trial.

An order that was issued today says that it may take up to six months before the defense will be ready to continue.

Bossier Police say Robert McCoy shot and killed his estranged wife's mother, stepfather and son in their Bossier City home back in 2008.

The triple fatal shooting happened police say in the Patricia Plaza Housing Complex. Officers were led to believe that McCoy was searching for his wife, Yolanda McCoy and his daughter when he shot the three victims.
