RUSTON, LA (KSLA) -A Ruston, Louisiana police officer was shot three times Monday morning September 13th, and authorities say he was not wearing a protective vest when he responded to the suspicious vehicle call.

Cpl. Marchael Canty arrived at Ambrose Automotive on the South Service Road in Ruston just before 1:30a.m. Ruston Police say Cpl. Marchael Canty approached the suspect in the vehicle who then opened fire on Canty.
