Wadley Regional M.C. gets midnight New Year's Day baby

Posted: Updated:

NEW BOSTON, TX (KSLA) – In Texarkana, Wadley Regional Medical Center welcomed its first baby a little after midnight.

Malarie Ealeese made her first appearance at 12:31 a.m., Friday morning.

She came out weighing a healthy 10 pounds 10 ounces.

Malarie's parents say she came out later than they had initially anticipated, but nevertheless they're grateful that she's here.

"I was shooting for December 22, but whenever she got real close to January 1st, I thought it would be real neat to have a New Year's baby," says mother Michelle Bobbitt.

"I've been waiting four weeks to get her, every since I found out," says father Charly Rainer.

Malarie is the first child of Michelle and Charly who are both from New Boston, Texas.
