SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – Shreveport Firefighters battle a 2nd Shreveport apartment fire in less than 24 hours.

That 2nd blaze happened at the Clear Horizon Apartments, located in the 4300 block of Illinois St., in West Shreveport, just before 8 p.m. Saturday night.

Shreveport firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke billowing from a downstairs apartment.

Fire officials say that at one point, it was believed that someone may have been trapped inside the complex, but upon searching, firefighters soon learned that no one was at the home.

Seven fire crews responded to the blaze and officials say that 21 firefighters were able to manage the fire within 15 minutes.

Fire investigators have confirmed that the fire originated from the stove in the apartment and there was no working smoke alarm.

No injuries were reported.
